Top 5 reasons why people use VPN
We asked our VPN Unlimited users when they first found it necessary to use a VPN service and what tasks they are trying to accomplish when using this product. Here are the most popular answers:
1) Too many hackers nowadays
Cyber crimes are not a new phenomenon considering that people started using the internet in the early ‘90s. In 2017 ransomware attacks have increased by 36% and the amount of people who were hacked accounted for 6.8%. Cyber risks are waiting for us everywhere, from unsecure WiFi hotspots to simple email newsletters. The results of our survey show how many of our users want to keep their identity from being stolen. Thanks to highly secure AES-256 encryption, no cyber criminal can decode our users’ private data. VPN Unlimited is a perfect protection against data theft.

2) Big businesses ignore people’s privacy
Some of our users are really worried about companies collecting their private information and using it for marketing (or other, less legal) purposes. As sometimes it seems that advertising can read your thoughts, anonymizing your internet activity is the best way to avoid annoying commercials. Respondents note that they’d like to stop ads from following them around and to hide from obtrusive companies. VPN Unlimited software renders geo targeting useless. The reason is that when you connect to a virtual server, the app makes it your entry point to the public web, obscuring your real IP address.
3) Big Brother is watching
Since Edward Snowden leaked information about the NSA’s top secret PRISM program, a lot of us got really concerned about somebody watching them online. The fact that big businesses like Apple, Microsoft, Facebook provide the NSA with their users’ private data, put the world on fire. Five years have passed and this issue is still topical. And this creepy feeling that you are not alone never goes anywhere. So we have created VPN Unlimited to protect your online traffic from tracking and to punch Big Brother’s lights out.
4) There is censorship in *insert country name*… No freedom
It is no secret that a lot of countries like China, Turkey, Russia censors the internet. They block access to your favorite social networks, popular email services, and all sorts of services that they deem illegal. Nobody likes to be restricted and this is one more reason to start using VPN service. Thanks to our 400+ high-speed servers across 70+ locations, you can connect to the necessary one and enjoy unlimited access to any geo-blocked content, wherever you are. Streaming servers (US Hulu, BBC iPlayer) included.
5) I just read it is wise to have VPN
Last but certainly not the least is when there is no immediate reason. Users just felt it was about time to start using VPN service. Smart of them, as it’s better to prevent cyber crime than to fight it when it occurs. Some of our users claim that using a virtual private network has to become as normal as keeping one’s doors locked.
